Sophie Hawley-Weld and Tucker Halpern have been keeping themselves busy this year by writing new music and livestreaming DJ sets every day since quarantine began, but that's not all they've been up to. On Tuesday (December 1), the duo revealed its latest project: a custom, limited-edition bike aptly named "The Purple Cheetah," paying homage to their hit single "Purple Hat."
The purple bike, made by Solé Bicycles, comes equipped with matching cheetah print handlebars and seat cover, and "Sofi Tukker" scrawled on the side of its frame. It also has a yellow chain, which is a nod to Halpern's favorite accessory.
“We are verrrrrry hyped to be doing a bike collaboration with Solé Bicycles. Soph bikes literally everywhere (in part cuz she doesn’t drive lol) and at one point in Tucker’s childhood, he wanted to be a BMX biker in the X games (until he grew way too big lol)," the band wrote in a statement about the partnership. "We are beyond excited to have a SOFI TUKKER edition bicycle that feels like an extension of ourselves. Who doesn’t want to ride The Purple Cheetah?”
