Walk The Moon Celebrate 5th Anniversary Of Seminal Album 'Talking Is Hard'

iHeartRadio Music Awards - Backstage

On December 2, 2014 Walk The Moon released what would become their seminal album Talking Is Hard. The record ended up topping Billboard's Alternative Albums chart, peaking at No. 3 on the Top Rock Albums chart, and going Platinum in the United States. It spawned the band's most successful song to date (and one that defined the 2010s) "Shut Up and Dance." Simply put: it changed the band members' lives.

To celebrate the album's fifth anniversary, the band shared a heartfelt post on Instagram, thanking fans for making the album what it is today.

"FIVE YEARS. Holy guacamole, it’s been five years since we released TALKING IS HARD, our second (or third) album (depending on who you ask)," they wrote alongside a photo of the album art. "This one, and the way you responded to it, changed our lives forever. We can’t thank you enough. Thanks to everyone who streamed Shut Up And Dance. Thank you to everyone who demands that we play the deep cuts. Thank you to everyone who has dug so deep into it that you debate band members about the lyrics of the b-sides. You’re just amazing. Your stories of this album and how it has played a role in your lives move us every time. We are honored to be part of your lives, and consider ourselves enormously lucky to have you as part of ours. So much love - WTM."
