Pixies are gearing up to release their new album Beneath the Eyrie on September 13th, and to celebrate, the band is sharing some of their new music during an exclusive performance while in Philadelphia at Radio 104.5. Hosted by the radio station's Amber Miller, Pixies will perform a few songs from Beneath the Eyrie, plus a fan favorite, and fans will be able to watch it all happen via a livestream on YouTube.
Beneath the Eyrie is Pixies' seventh full-length studio album following 2016's Head Carrier (and third since their 2004 reunion), and includes previously released songs "On Graveyard Hill" and "Catfish Kate." The band unveiled details about the making of Beneath the Eyrie, which was created in Woodstock, NY at Dreamland studios, in their very own 12-part podcast, It's a Pixies Podcast, hosted by journalist Tony Fletcher. The band's Paz Lenchantin has said of recording at Woodstock, "It felt a bit haunted. We could've been filming a Blair Witch at the same time. The aura was thick. There was definitely a fifth member inside the church."
